My Music

I've added a music widget to the bottom of my blog. I've composed all of the songs with the help of Dubstep. None of them are very good but... whatever. Enjoy. ~Jacob

New Post

My birthday party went well. Two of my friends came at about 3:00. We chased each other through the woods. One of my friends got cuts on his legs and the other got stuck in a wood pile. Later we had a Bible study at our house. I ended up having about 8 people in my room. Three of the eight stayed over. We played a lot of halo. Watched THR3E. Went to bed at five something. Tired. Why does that sound like Japanese poetry? I'm learning Spanish. After one day I can understand and speak a few words. una niƱa bebe agua for example. ~Jacob

Just a Post

I was just reading my last post and I felt like a should post something so here I am. Tomorrow is my B-day. Hhmmm... My MLB 09 The Show game came today. Of course half my order is on a different truck. Go figure. So it's not here yet. Drum lessons are going good. I'm doing the dreaded page 38 this week. In swing. Sorry it's dinner time. Talk to you later. The Darkness truly does not understand The Light. ~Jacob

My B-dAy: FaMilY DAY

I have split my birthday into three days. My family party, my actual birthday, and my friend party. This blog post is about the family party, which was on Sunday. After church me, my mom, and my sister, drove down to my grandparent's house. After lunch. Good lunch. Ham and pineapple and whatnot... Anyway, after lunch I opened presents. You wouldn't believe the loot I made off with. Three cardboard boxes, three IOUs, and one movie... titled THR3E. It's PG-13 for violence, disturbing images and terror so if your under thirteen or hate Ted Dekker don't Click Here. For the most part it stayed true to the book so that was good. Unlike a certain C. S. Lewis book Disney's paws took the name of and gave it to an unrelated movie. Hhmmm... Oh yeah! And I got 50 bucks that I bought a PSP 3000 bundlepack with. It comes with a PSP 3000, Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters, MLB 09 The Show, Echocrome download, National Treasure 2 movie, 1 GB Memory card, and another cardboard box!!! School's almost done!!! ~Jacob

Bold in B

I got to see Marley and Me on Sunday. All the best parts of the movie are in the trailer.

The rest of the movie is mostly language and kissing. Not the best "family movie."

Drove to Camden to see Camden Hills State Park. *swats at bug* Stupid mosquitoes. *mumbles* Little demon bugs *mumbles* We climbed the tower at Mount Battie. *mumbles again about not bringing the camera* Awesome view of the ocean. After that we climbed Mount Megunticook to 0.5 miles of the top. From there you have an awesome view of the ocean and Mount Battie. =D On the way up we were attacked by a snake and my dad found fool's gold. I later hid it in a bush. For lunch, as I'll call our 3:40 p.m. meal, we ate at The Lunch Wagon in Belfast. Big hit with everyone. Everything was great. While waiting for my chicken I smiled at a baby boy at another table. He responded by grabbing and than sucking on the mustard bottle at which I laughed. Blank stares from the boy.

We started a garden yesterday. By we I mean Dad and I. Peppers, tomatoes, and snow peas on the left. Pumpkins, watermelons, zucchini, cucumbers, and the like on the right.

My birthday is in 9 days.

My review (Click Here) is in the book. ~Jacob

Vaca

Vacation Journal *Caution! Not every sentence in this post is correct. I did not get the chance to write every day and got some thing messed up. Sorry*

Driving Day 1:
We left at 4:50 A.M. We were going to leave at 4:30 but no alarms went off and I, the one how sleeps till noon, had to get everyone up. We drove from Maine to Virginia. It took us 19 minutes and 39 seconds to drive through Delaware. We'll try to beat that time on the way back. We ate at a Cracker Barrel for dinner and fast food places for breakfast and lunch. I sat in a car for about 16 hours and wasn't bored.
Driving Day 2:
Slept in somewhat. Played nintendo. Read. Listened to music. Saw some cows. Got to Hilton Head, South Carolina. Swam in pool. Ate ice cream. Went to bed.
Vacation Day 1:
It's 3:27 P.M. Woke up at 7:50 but got up at 8:3o. After my breakfast of Frosted Flakes I got a bike. (In Hilton Head a lot of people ride bikes instead of cars. Plus, with all the eating out you need the exercise.) It is red. So far today I have seen
  • 8 Dogs
  • 7 Squirrels
  • 4 Crows
  • 9 Sparrows
  • 4 Geckos
  • 2 Turtles
  • 2 Baby alligators
  • 5 Egrets
  • 34 Blue Heron
  • 1 Lizard
  • 2 Blue Jays
  • 1 Morning Doves
  • 3 Dolphins
  • And various digress of sea gulls, crabs, horses, and other animals.
The place we are staying in is nice. It has a pool and shuffle board. I'm sharing a room with my brother. I might post more after dinner.
Later... One Hot Mama was our culinary provider. It was okay. Read Nightmare's Edge. Finally got it!!!!
Vacation Day 2:
Another bowl of the frosted stuff. Swam in a pool. Swam in the ocean... I'm writing this on Day Four so I'll just skip to dinner. We ate at Fudd Ruckers. That's where you can get hot dogs as long as your arm and a hamburger as big as my brother's head.* MY DADDY SAID SO!!!! :) Than you take them to a salad bar and load them up with whatever. Good night.
Vacation Day 3:
Mommy's day. We road our bikes to a cafe. French toast is good. After the cafe we road to The Salty Dog. Saw some birds. Pictures"My Maltis is smarter than your honor student." Back to the ocean! I walked down the beach with my Dad. We got to see dolphins fishing 30 feet away from us. After about a mile we were going to turn back but, as always, we went just a little further to see what we would have missed. I found some shells and all was normal but than.... da da DAAAA!!!! I saw a minnow... AND THEN THE SAND TURNED GOLD AND THERE WOULD BE ONE ORE TWO BABY CLAMS AND YOU WOULD LET THE OCEAN WASH A LITTLE SAND AWAY AND THERE WOULD BE, LITERALLY, HUNDREDS OF THEM IN THAT ONE LITTLE SPOT!!!!!!!!!! Then we walk the one-and-a-half two-ish miles back. I started reading The Christmas Sweater by Glen Beck. I read a little too long and got a bad sun burn on my legs. Got some gel that made it worse. Laid a wet towel over my legs till about 10:00 P.M. Still reading The Christmas Sweater. Dream.
Vacation Day 4:
We drove to Savannah, Georgia to look at graves. Here's a video of two cool ones. Sorry about the quality. No batteries. If anyone can't read what the graves say and wants to know just tell me in a E-mail or comment. Click the "Contact Me"button to send me an E-mail Click here for pics.

The graveyard was cool. Big tree covered in Spanish moss were everywhere. It was like a scene strait out of Tortuga's graveyard. (Pirates of the Caribbean Online) Minus the skeleton grave robbers. I found a palm tree seed so I get to plant it back home. It will probably die in Maine though. ;p Random: Apparently restrooms in grave yards are called "man buildings" Drove around Georgia. Finished The Christmas Sweater than had dinner. The food at Five Guys was cool. Simple yet great. Swam in the pool a little and now I'm writing this... day three...two and part of one. Yeah. 9:46 P.M. Jacob signing off.
Vacation Day 5:
I got up early today. Before eight. EIGHT!!! Yeah, well, anyway. I got up early so I could play tennis. I did pretty good for my first time. Won a couple games made some good plays. Took a bike ride. Pics Good night this is a long post for me. Didn't really want to go to the ocean today so I just swam in the pool and played shuffle board. Now I'm typing this and working on photo stuff. I hope my grandfather and his friends will want to play pitch tonight. If not I can always play black jack with sis. Wow I have a lot of books to read. White, Boneman's Daughters, Blink, Nightmare's Edge, and of course the Bible. Where did my watch go? Hhmmmm... It's 3:43. I've been on the computer long enough. Good day dear reader.
Later: Wow! I just got back from a bike ride. There was a HUGE gator right next to me. Literally, like, 10 feet away. Oh yeah, I also added a guest book to my home page. Goodnight.
Vacation Day 6:
Well, today was a lot like yesterday. Played tennis. Went to the beach. My dad found an ear-ring, a key, and I found a big shell. It's all a blur.
Vacation Day 7:
Today is my last day in Hilton Head, South Carolina so we tried to do it all. We ate at the bakery, played tennis, went to a pool, went to the beach, had pizza. I'm tired. I get to go home and see my dog.
Driving Day 3:
Time seems to lose it's meaning in the car. I step in than sit for hours, reading, resting, thinking. All I do is sit. For 12 hours a day. Just sit. And read. And think.
Driving Day 4:
Cool day. I saw the Washington monument, the Pentagon, Charm City Cakes, and I saw home. We didn't beat our time going through Delaware but at 11:30 I was in my bed again. Cool! My friend just got back for vaca too! Click Here to see his blog post.

Well this is the longest post in the history of The Insanity of a Homeschooler blog. Go thing I forgot what I wanted to say... Sad ending I guess. Or maybe you're glad I forgot. Less reading for you. Oh well, I have a book to finish and a church to go to. So comes the end of a vaca in the life of an insane homeschooler. ~Jacob

Hi everyone! Before I get to the song of the month, I would like to introduce you to these guys! :D ;) :) :( :-$ :p They're a little plain but they're ALOT easyer than the smilies on the forums... <_<

I like the twist Mandisa did on this older song. The drumming is great and the electronic effect on her voice was a nice touch. The intro is great too. ~Jacob

The Bones of Makaios Review

If anyone out there reads this blog you may know about a book called The Bones of Makaidos. I was lucky enough to pre-read and write a review for the author. Here it is. It have no spoilers.
(O~-------------------------------------------------------------------~O)
Bryan Davis has done it again! I knew Mr. Davis was an excellent author, but I was amazed to find myself double taking and rereading pages as my jaw dropped. You will be up late into the night reading The Bones of Makaidos telling yourself, "just one more chapter" over and over again. Possibly Mr. Davis’ best yet!
(O~-------------------------------------------------------------------~O)
I encourage you to read this book. It was amazing! You can find a link to the author's site at the bottom of my blog and a link to his blog on the right of this page. ~Jacob

Lunch is Served

A few days ago at lunch I was informed that lunch would not be made for me... This is what I turned to:

1.) Potatoes of course

2.) Chesse ^-^

3.) Bacon... Dah

My wonderful creation was made by cutting a potatoe into round disks and frying them in olive oil. Then I layered the potatoes, melting cheese, and bacon into this tower of taste. Fresh bazil toppped it off. =D ~Jacob

Funnies From the Forum

OK. This is something I might keep doing, or something I'll never thing about again. Funny how that works... Anyway. I'm part of a forum ---> http://www.dragonsinourmidst.com/forums <--- That one, and everyone there is insane, like me. So if you don't have the time to read the books, become a member and all that... I could post some of the funny stuff here... I could but I never said I would... OK OK Fine! I'll do it. =D

Only in America ......do drugstores make the sick walk all the way to the back of the store to get their prescriptions while healthy people can buy cigarettes at the front.
Only in America .....do people order double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a diet coke.
Only in America .....do banks leave both doors open and then chain the pens to the counters.
Only in America .....do we leave cars worth thousands of dollars in the driveway and put our useless junk in the garage.
Only in America ......do we buy hot dogs in packages of ten and buns in packages of eight.
Only in America .....do they have drive-up ATM machines with Braille lettering.
Ever Wonder...Why the sun lightens our hair, but darkensour skin?
Why women can't put on mascara with their mouth closed?
Why don't you ever see the headline 'Psychic Wins Lottery'?
Why is 'abbreviated' such a long word?
Why is it that doctors call what they do 'practice'?
Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?
Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?
Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?
Why isn't there mouse-flavored cat food?
Why didn't Noah swat those two mosquitoes?
Why do they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?
You know that indestructible black box that is used on airplanes? Why don't they make the whole plane out of that stuff?!
Why don't sheep shrink when it rains?
Why are they called apartments when they are all stuck together?
If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress?
If flying is so safe, why do they call the airport "the terminal"?

Tell me what you think! ;p ~Jacob

Some of the BEST books EVER

"Have you heard about the "Dragons in our Midst" books by Bryan Davis? They're an awesome Christian fantasy series, four great books that are so exciting, moving, and inspiring, you have to read them to believe it! These books honor God, and they’re changing the lives of young people all over the world, helping them walk closer to God.And now a Hollywood studio has bought the rights to make a movie! The only thing holding them back from making it is that the books aren't famous enough yet to get the financial backing they need. That's why I'm writing to you. I want everyone to know about these books. If you want to buy them and see for yourself, just go to http://www.dragonsinourmidst.com/ and you'll see several ways to get them. Maybe if they make a famous best-seller list, they'll be able to make a movie. Here are the titles: Raising Dragons, The Candlestone, Circles of Seven, and Tears of a Dragon. And now the author is coming out with a new series called "Oracles of Fire!" The first book, "Eye of the Oracle," is a prequel to the first series. You can learn more about it at the same website, http://www.dragonsinourmidst.com/ .Please pass this along to everyone in your e-mail address book! If more people get a chance to read these books, I believe thousands of teenagers will have their lives changed forever! Thank you!" ~ Bryan Davis

Bryan Davis is an awsome writer and I love his books. It would be so cool if they got turned into movies... If the director doen't changes them to much. :p ~Jacob

Teen Magazine

O.k. There is this awsome christian teen magazine that I'm helping out with. It's going to have all kinds of stuff. Muisc, movies, game reviews, loads of things. And every square inch is God honorring. I'll let you know what's happening with it as it gets closer to the release date. The first issue is coming out sometime in February so it shouldn't be long. ~Jacob

Death of Me by Red

Check this out! The music video is awsome! It reminded me of *SPOILER* Thr3e *SPOILER* by Ted Dekker. ;p ~Jacob
